Austin Race for the Cure!

Hi Friends!

Lee and I want to write you and invite you to something so important and so cool.

First...a little background information...When we lived in Denver, we became friends with Martine, the founder of the Mickaela Foundation, which financially supports uninsured women living in the Denver area, who are facing treatment for Breast Cancer. Martine began this foundation when her sister died of Breast Cancer the previous year. Every year, they have a huge awareness event as they walk together as the Yellow team (all in yellow t-shirts) in the Race for the Cure. Last year, they had 122 participants! So, when Lee and I moved back down here to Austin, we made a promise to Martine that we would bring the Yellow team to Austin! In doing so, we will also begin the process of extending the funding for uninsured Breast Cancer patients to the Austin area.

SO! Here is your opportunity. We are inviting you to WALK or RUN with us in the Austin Race for the Cure on Sunday, November 7, 2004. All you need to do is go to the Race for the Cure website at http://www.komenaustin.org and click on "Join a Team." Then you will have to find the team on the Team List Page. It's under "t" for "The Yellow Team." It will walk you through the process from there--you'll type in all your information and then also pay your $22 registration fee. After that, you'll be set for our big day and more information will come about that!

If you are unsure, let us convince you. There are so many benefits! First of all, you get a free Austin Race for the Cure t-shirt! YEA!! Then, you will also get a free Yellow Team t-shirt to wear the day of the race! Two t-shirts!!! Also, you will surely be on the news as we walk as a flood of yellow (see pictures from last year's at http://www.mickaela.com/). You'll get to have so much fun hanging out with so many cool people. And...you will raise awareness and money for something that has affected or will affect all of our lives.

Please consider doing this and go sign up right now! Put it on your calendars! Invite as many friends or family as you'd like. And...if you are already planning on attending, make sure to sign up as our team. We want to make this day huge!

Let us know if you have any questions!

We love you!
Love in Christ,
Lee and Julie
