The shake is stupied, i just wanted to try it out.
Click on the link, go ahead, you know you want too.......
We had some company a couple of weeks ago. If you want a play by play click on this link for Janet's Page where you will find detail of the trip.
My highlights were the trip to Red Rocks (which sadly was without Julie), and our trip to the zoo Friday, although some folks take too dang long looking at the dumb fish exhibit. All in all it was a huge blessing to have our friends come up.
In other news I read a book by Jon Krakauer called Into Thin Air. The book was unbelievable, detailing a disastrous expedition up Everest, with particular attention paid to the impact of commercialization on the mountain and it's mountaineers. I won't go into much more detail, but I would suggest going to Half Price Books and picking up a copy.
Bye now.
The peeps are in the House. It's fun to have some of our best friends here in Colorado, makes us feel at home. We are planning to go visit Red Rocks tomorrow. I'm a bit disappointed in the fact that Julie cannot go, because of school, but it will be fun none the less.
Here is a link to a sermon our buddy Ryan recommended.
Also a link to all their sermons.....
So Janet is in Lubbock, soon they will leave for CO.
Shortly thereafter Matty will fly out.
Its all so nice........
Yeah for our friends coming to Colorado to visit! It is fun to have folks coming in. It could be dangerous though. Last time we had friends come from Texas one tried to eat a glass at the Coors brewery, and later drove off the road on the way home. Crazy people. We love them though.
We are hopefully going to go skiing, visit the brewery, go on a hike, go out to eat and hang out ("fellowship" for you Lutherans out there). Patty wants to go gamble, so we might do a bit, I've never been to Blackhawk.
For all you punks that can't come to visit, it's cool, we didn't like y'all anyways. ;)
About a month till opening day. Astros gonna kick some bootie.
Moguls, the downfall of a skiers confidence.
So I was having a perfectly good day at the slopes. 35 degrees outside, sunny, doing well out there, and then one wrong turn on my last run and WHAM. No more great last run before the ride home.
I went on my first black at Copper, which met up with a super fun blue called Oh No. It was late in the day so I decided to go down Oh No again and make it my last run. I figured out how to start at Oh No and I was off. Well I ended up turning down like the worst run of moguls on the who stankin mountain. It was insane. I was "skiing" down it for like 30-45 minutes, WITHOUT SEEING ANOTHER HUMAN. Even the good skiers at Copper avoid this run. About halfway down I just skied into the woods (on purpose), laid down so that my face would not melt off (oh, I didn't mention that I forgot my sunscreen for the first time).
Moral of the story.....Don't get cocky skiing or you face will melt off and every bone in your body will ache.
And by the way, I still love CO. Can't get this weather or scenery anywhere else.
Julie made a huge first step toward blogging yesterday. She visited the site without coaching or without my prodding. She still has no interest toward posting, but we'll get there eventually.........
To be continued......
My advice....Never, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, EVER graduate from COLLEGE. Why you might ask? Seems like such a great opportunity. Seems so wonderful. Well it is. It is a great opportunity. Only ANNOYING HITCH....They are blood sucking leeches. The Association, and all their other $ raising organizations are just greedy. As soon as my almamater can make the NIT basketball torney they can have some money. Not that it will matter, because I am sure I cannot afford to buy a towel for those guy.
Don't get me wrong, I love my school. I just don't understand why they feel the need to charge 5 billion dollars for a football ticket when the year before (as a student) it cost me 80 bones.
It's nice to support you school, and my kiddos will still be students there, but dang, it ain't cheap......
Wow. The roads got crazy today. Its dumped a bunch of snow in the last few hours. Its fun, so long as the plows get to work over night. Maybe there will be a snow day tomorrow, I'd be fun to hang out with Julie before work.
Colorado is fun.
So everyone wants to weigh in on the passion. If you want my opinion you are welcome to come visit wonderful, sunny CO (nice work Fatty, Janet, and Matty)....Otherwise, consider this article that my father sent me on the subject
I usually like to spend Monday's skiing. Only problem being that I have no one to go with, and an hour and a half is a long time to drive (3 total) by yourself. I shouldn't be a wus about it, after all I won't be in CO forever.
In other news...I am going to get our taxes done tomorrow. I think we are going to get a lot back, which is nice, because Julie and I want to get a house or condo or something. It is funny how saving $ is, it is actually quite addicting. Julie and I try to strategize how to save more money all the time. I would think that spending $ would be more fun, but saving money seems to be more exciting.
Wanna know something even more sick, is that I like paying bills. Now don't misunderstand me, I wish I didn't have any, but seeing as they are inevitable, they aren't as bad as people make them out to be. I guess I would sing another tune if we were stretched thin, but I guess that is what I like about it. We are so blessed, and I can always see that when I pay our bills.
